MY BOOKS TO YOU Chapter 6
CHAPTER 6
I woke up early at seven sharp, even though it is a Sunday. I
usually sleep an extra hour on Sundays for all the night shifts I do at the
office.
But today I woke up early because I am going to meet her again.
Just thinking about it is making me feel really nervous, but also seeing her
would make my day. Maybe I could ask her for a cup of coffee at the nearby
cafe, and we could go and explore a bookstore. My mind is filling up with a lot
of plans, and that's when I realise that I decided everything except my
clothing for today.
I have to make my good impression. It is kind of a new feeling of
dressing well for someone. Especially the girl I realised I liked. So, I open
my blue closet and start trying on clothes. But I need someone to tell me if I
look good or not.
I walk in long strides to my sister's room and knock on the door.
Yes. My sister. I know she is definitely going to make fun of e
butt I can take it if I look presentable in front of Tejasri.
Just remembering her name makes me smile.
My sister opens the door. I think I woke her up because she was
yawning when she opened the door.
"You ruined my sleep, Captain Earlybird. What do you want me
to do? Select a shirt to make you impress my would-be sister-in-law.
I was shocked at that comment. How did she know that? These
sisters know everything, even without our brothers telling them. I roll my
eyes.
"Yes. I want you to select a shirt."
"Wear that Black, linen button-down shirt with Grey jeans.
Don't forget to roll your sleeves. Girls love it."
She told it like she memorised my whole wardrobe. I definitely
have to follow her orders.
"Yes, Miss Fashion."
"Did you just give me a nickname? Oh, this girl is changing
you a lot."
I tilt my head slightly and narrow my eyes like I am giving her a
warning.
"Sorry. Just.. Just wear what I told you and let me
sleep."
With that, she closed the door in my face.
I went inside my room and dressed, and came out.
My mom was there in the kitchen cooking dinner, and she cocked her
head from what she was cooking to look at me.
She let out an exaggerated gasp and said, "You look so hot.
Which girl are you trying to impress? " She turned back to cooking.
My face was hot at her comment. This is what happens if people
read a lot of books. They become really extroverted.
"No one mom. Just dressed for myself."
"Going to the Library?"
"Yes."
I ate my breakfast. She made fluffy pancakes, and the sweet maple
syrup combination was heavenly. My mom's pancakes are the best.
" Bye. I am going." I tell her.
"Say Hi to that girl you texted yesterday. Bye." She
told.
My mom's a real spy in our family. It feels like the walls are her
allies, and they communicate every gossip.
I roll my eyes and leave.
Heading towards the library.
