MY BOOKS TO YOU Chapter 9
CHAPTER 9
(BOOK GUY)
I do not know how all those words
come out. I clearly don't know how to flirt. Yet, just by looking at her, all
the words rush out before I can overthink them.
I swiftly turn and move towards the
door so she can compose herself. I find it fun seeing her flustered. She
is always really organised, like she has mastered the look of being presentable.
Seeing a different part of her makes me feel more like wanting to fly. I want
to fly really high, just so I can fall for her all over again.
I open the door. It is made of
walnut wood, arched like a heart shape. It is really new for me to notice all
these small things.
She comes, her eyes pinned on mine
with a smile on her face. I notice that she was wearing three-inch-tall
sneakers. I brush away a small smile that is appearing on my face, seeing that
detail.
"Do you know the closest
bookstore?" She asks. Her eyes are calculating everything that she is planning
ahead.
" I guess that one in
Indiranagar. It is about a five-minute walk. Have you decided on what book we
are going to select?" I want to keep talking to her, spilling all my
secrets, and she will be my treasure box.
"Ok. Not yet. I have some
questions." She turned slightly to look at me.
We are walking side to side. Her
height barely reaches my chin, I find it adorable. I like this- her walking
beside me.
It felt as if the stars were coming
out of every step she took.
Magical, isn't it?
"Slow-burn or
fast-paced?" She asked me, bringing me back to the present.
"She loves all types of books,
but I'd say fast-paced books make her more captivated," I say confidently.
" Hmm... Then I know exactly what
she would like." She says, closing her eyes and cupping her face with her
small hands. As if she were in a world of mystery, scrolling through all the
books.
Watching her like this is
beautiful, like I'm getting to feel parts of her.
When she opened her eyes, it felt
like watching the sunrise on a beach. I like it more than I should. Her eyes
and her short height compared to mine.
I have never felt time rush this
fast.
We reached the bookshop.
Her face is lit with happiness that
I have never seen except when she sees books.
Her lips split into a smile like
books are the powerhouse of her energy.
If I can see her like this, I would
bring her here all the time.
" Are books your powerhouse or
something? I see that beautiful smile of yours only when you see books." I
winked. I caught her off guard again.
That's when I noticed that even I was smiling like I never did
before. It felt like it was coming from my heart.
